Re: Ideas for new city.
I was thinking for the new city do something like a deserted rust belt kind of place. That way the PC's can kind of dictate where things go and how things work. IT also allows for us to have some fun retro stuff. Think of a city trapped in the 70's to start with no signs of life. Just piles of Dust and old rusty things. Eventually with the PC's help the city could thrive again. But what emptied it in the first place? Why is it the way it is?
I think it would make for a really great organic process with people's hang out preferences making the place what it was instead of mapping out everything.

One thing I do want, which we need and were lacking in the old city is a magical/arcane library for supernatural characters to be able to do the proper research

It might be an interesting flip to have the Villains firmly in control of the new city, and having the 'support' of the populace, with the Heroes having to be the ones in hidding.
Or something like Necessary Evil, where there's a greater threat in control, like Evil Space Nazi, and the Villains and what few scattered heroes make it through have to band together, though that's a bit harder without someone running all the Big Baddies.

My thoughts are to have the main area of the city as a mix of modern and cyberpunk, with all the tech-head characters we have around, along with some ramshackle shanty town area, with improvised buildings, perhaps being the remnants of where the survivors first set up and built a temporary place to live while the rest was being constructed, then left abandoned and the poor and homeless who failed to integrate into the new city end up there, along with shady dealings. I would love to see an asian inspired area with gardens and an onsen/bath house, maybe even with small rooms that can be ICly rented for a night or two kinda deal. And with a whole sim dedicated just to the city, we can also do multi-level builds, have a couple of platforms to build different areas of the city on, with a TP tunnel connecting them, so we can fit as many areas and buildings as we need.

Re: Ideas for new city.
We really need an entire level to represent the desolate wastes outside the city.
Also, maybe the ruins of the old city could be considered a cursed or particularly dangerous place, full of maddened and mutated metas?

Re: Ideas for new city.
New city with vibe of some Cyberpunk and Batman TAS, with a rich side, a poor side, and a desert/wasteland/ruin. Something more darker than what we were used to be, in résumé. **cough** Like Midian City.
Re: Ideas for new city.
I do think make it into a few sectors - residential, commercial, industrial, wasteland. Maybe less apartments and more RP spaces that can be shared out and are scenes rather than exact places.

Re: Ideas for new city.
I would say go for a partial cyberpunk/high tech theme as many have said as well. Definite add a bath house and sectors if possible. Id love to have a Nexan area with a living building and other biotech stuff, but not really expecting that to go through, but one can dream. Also id say make it controlled by the good side as in the past its almost always been run by villains, Nightmare is the first mayor to try and make things better as far as i know. Having a central location like the "diner" of CC past should be done as well, that was probably the main area people went for RP apart from combat.

I feel the same. The city itself should be cyberpunkesque with different sectors and such, and an actual teleport er to the "wastes"

Re: Ideas for new city.
So there seems to be a strong lean towards cyberpunk as a predominant theme, but variety is always good, so here's my proposal for everyone to mull over. Industrial/business/residential sectors in a Cyberpunk theme. Administrative sector in modern, like old CC. A garden/park area with oriental overtones. And then the shady parts of town would be the ruins of what was here before, which was a more steampunk-style civilization
Re: Ideas for new city.
Sounds good to me. May also be a good idea to start off with the city under construction if the story goes as many have suggested.

I like the idea of multiple levels (like one at 1000M, one at 2000M, etc), where there's the different areas. The main city at one level, the Bad Lands at another, and maybe even a space station like one or something. Just could be a good variety of different things and sectors. Loved the depth of the sewers last time, hope we can still have stuff like that

Idea for Timber run businesses owning a fifties style diner. *This is being discussed with Deux as I type this* and the possibility of a drive in.

If theres space on the ground (or a skybox) an area of the wastelands would be nice, and minimal decoration/land impact. It could serve useful in events too.

Agreed. Even a Forbidden floor of the main library would do.Hannah DuMont wrote: ↑Tue Dec 11, 2018 7:12 pm One thing I do want, which we need and were lacking in the old city is a magical/arcane library for supernatural characters to be able to do the proper research
I also found it weird that the museum was always little more than a gallery. How about a place full of magic plot devices as well as art?
Museums rotate exhibits, whoever runs the museum IC could make new McGuffins or plot devices periodically OOC.

How about a dojo? Places for the fighters and martial artists of the group.
Re: Ideas for new city.
dojo has already been added to the city ^^
Re: Ideas for new city.
Will the city ever have an underground tunnel system of sorts?
Re: Ideas for new city.
